Well, life handed be some pretty shitty developments over the past few days.
But, Mother Noose added an ALL AGES show at the Back Bar on July 18th, with our boys from Life Disorder.
We should have some new tunes ready by then.

Yup, the Noose is back!
…and we’re ready to lay down the hammer of metal.
Urn is a REALLY good Goth Metal band with some Celtic touches. I haven’t heard A Tortured Soul, but Bob speaks very highly of them, and so does my fiance, Eva. It should be a killer night.
Yeah, lineup changes again. Due to a busy work schedule, Mike has had to take a less active role in Mother Noose. Aaron kinda realized that it wasn’t really his thing, and Steve, though he very much likes the Noose’s music, is busy coaching his daughter’s softball team, so he had to drop out, at least for the summer. On a good note, long time Mother Noose drummer Chad Stage has returned to the fold! So here’s the updated lineup:
Saint Christopher: Vocals, Guitar, Keys, Programming
Jason Staack: Guitar
Nick Barrett: Guitar, Vocals
Dave Guernsey: Bass, Guitar, Drums, Vocals
Chad Stage: Drums, vocals?
I would like to find one more musician [Mother Noose has historically been a 6 piece for most of its existence], preferably someone who doesn’t mind switching between guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals. If you’re interested, hit me up. We’re hoping to start gigging this summer.
Yeah, we’re coming back again. Nick, Staack, Mike, Dave, and I [work schedules permitting] are still pretty pissed off at the world, and we’re gaining the added anger of Steve and Aaron from SOS on the rhythm section. So here’s the updated lineup:
Saint Christopher: Vocals, Guitar, Keys, Programming
Jason Staack: Guitar
Nick Barrett: Guitar, Vocals
Dave Guernsey: Bass, Guitar, Drums, Vocals
Mike Berg: Keys, Programming, Vocals, Drums, Bass
Steve Stutsman: Drums, Programming, Vocals
Aaron Snow: Bass, Guitar, Vocals
First meeting is next week Wed. I’ll give you an update Thursday.
Ok, so here’s the updates, sorry they’ve been soooooooo long in coming.
1. There is a band of obnoxious 13 year olds in Alabama who also decided they like the name Mother Noose. They threatened to kill me if WE didn’t change our name… let’s see, who runs www.mothernoose.com? WE DO. Who runs www.myspace.com/mothernoose? WE DO. Who was opening up for Dope, Superjoint Ritual, and Agent Zero while these kids were still wetting the bed? WE DID. If you want to have a few words with the boys, you can hit them up at www.myspace.com/mothernooseband
I just ask you to
A.) avoid threatening them
B.) keep your comments as mature and intelligent as possible
C.) avoid profanity. The last thing we need is the parents of some angry teenager pitching a fit.
Update #2-
Mother Noose goes without live drummer!
Yup, Mike and I particularly, along with our axe-wielding brethren Staack and Nick, have been programming and sequencing out backing tracks. Dave will be joining us on bass and backing vox as his work schedule and family permit. The new sound of Mother Noose is still as brutal as ever [we’re still rockin three guitars] but the sequencing allows the songs to have a texture that we haven’t been able to achieve since Zen was in the band, but now we’ve taken it a step further. I’ll post some demo versions of the backing tracks for ya to enjoy. Tentatively, by this fall we’ll have enough material to do a full show [more like a full, ANGRY rave] by ourselves.
Hey people-
Friday Feb 16th we close out the night at the Back Bar w/ The Skintones and Binky Tunny and the Farmland Chokehold.
This show will be our first with our new lineup- basically the same as our last lineup except that Mike will be playing drums and singing less, and Dave will be playing bass and singing more.
We’re looking for a keyboardist / electronics guy. I’ve ordered a drum trigger brain, and soon we’re going to start working with a click track and sequences and samples- so if you’re good with computer based audio, you don’t need to know a goddamn thing about keyboards
If this sounds like something you [or someone you know] would be interested in, shoot me an email.
Oh yeah, there’s like 10 sec of silence at the beginning, so be patient!
Jan. 20th the boys from the ‘Noose rock with Milwaukee’s Queen of capital ‘R’ Rock, Binky Tunny and the Farmland Chokehold. Nolo Contendre also plays.
Shows’ at McAulffie’s Pub in Racine, 9ish.
That’s right, grab your guitar and throw down the hammer with the ‘Noose
That’s right. The ‘Noose rocks the Back Bar again, round 9:30PM.
